Last Saturday, I finally met my friend Bz Jason, who held his first solo exhibition, "Contrast" at KUBRICK in Kwun Tong.
The exhibition showcased hundreds of different faces that was put together while he was stressed from work. He used different neon color papers to create random shape that ultimately turn into what he called, "Whattheface". It was playful experience to investigate the line between colors and emotions, which reminded me of a project I did in IB, that played with that concept as well.
It was part of a collection that investigate split personalities and our inner thoughts. I used greyscale tone ink and paints for the graffiti on the positive side ; colors on the negative side.
Anyways...
I am still packing my luggage and my flight is in a couple of hours. I am having a huge procrastination because I am not feeling too good about going back to New York! A new snow storm called Janus has hit the city and I am so not ready for the cold weather (I remember I was super excited when I saw snow... not anymore)! I also feel sad to leave my friends and family in Hong Kong. I feel like I did not have spend enough time with everyone and now I have to go again! Oh well... on a positive note, I am coming back very soon!
I will sure miss my mum's turnip cake!
Best,
Katrina
